    The Northeast Georgia Regional Commission meets from 12-1pm at 197 East Broad Street, Athens, GA. The Northeast Georgia Regional Commission, located in Athens, is one of twelve state-wide regional commissions, created to be a focal point for regional issues concerning local government and to be a resource for those governments in a variety of specialized areas including government planning, economic development, grant preparation, job training, and aging services. This agency serves 12 Northeast Georgia counties including Barrow County and 54 municipalities.     Georgia's Innovation Corridor Joint Development Authority

    This joint development authority consists of representatives from four counties, Barrow, Gwinnett, Oconee, and Athens-Clarke. The purpose of the authority is to enhance economic opportunity along the University Parkway Corridor by developing and promoting a consistent development concept that will result in the location and expansion of business with world-class research and development, advanced manufacturing and the application of other knowledge based technologies.
