Ben McDaniel, Economic Development Director for the Barrow-Braselton Joint Economic Development Authority, is thrilled to announce the successful groundbreaking of Kroger’s new Marketplace store at the intersection of Hwy. 81 and Hoyt King Road in Bethlehem, Georgia.
The project represents a $34.5 million capital investment and will span 118,000 square feet. The store is slated for completion in January 2026 and is expected to bring 250 to 300 new jobs to the Bethlehem community.
Victor Smith, president of Kroger’s Atlanta Division, emphasized the significance of the project: “This is not just a capital investment; it’s a community investment. We are committed to making a positive impact and delivering on our purpose to feed the human spirit.”
