Auburn, Old Southern Charm with a vision for the future!

As our slogan implies Auburn has that old southern charm, established in 1892 and named "Auburn" because the red clay in certain places of the city was used to dye cloth auburn-red, we love our history and exemplify the beauty and serenity of North Georgia.

Auburn has planned green spaces and five beautiful parks with a great mix of residential homes, town houses and apartments, commercial and industrial. We proudly encompass two counties, Gwinnett and Barrow. Auburn is accessible by highway 316, 324, 211 and 29/8. The interstate is less then 9 miles from Downtown Auburn.

Auburn, a progressive city, has developed a Downtown Overlay District and a Downtown Development Authority. The vision for our new downtown will incorporate modern and classical designs that are regulated through the downtown overlay district ordinance. The downtown overlay district is located on S.R. 8/ Hwy 29. The overlay has two major North/South roads running beside it which provide quick connections to highways.

Auburn Station, a Planned Suburban Village, is the newest addition to the city and another progressive approach for the future. The Suburban Village will be nestled on a total of 150 acres and  will offer 50 acres of retail, commercial and office uses immediately adjacent to S.R. 8/ Hwy 29. Residential use will be comprised of approximately 600 apartments/townhouses. High gas prices and remote suburban areas have created a need for Villages. This is another example of Auburn's ability to plan for the future.
